Gavin Wright, CEO
Having worked at executive level for 25 years within the media industry, Gavin has a wealth of experience within the sales, marketing & the communications arena. His experience crosses multiple business sectors including Vertical Farming, Sustainable Agriculture, United Nations Sustainable Goals, Water Management, FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) Banking & Finance. Gavin has managed experienced sales and communications teams for publishing, film production and conference companies and has extensive knowledge within the agricultural landscape within North America & Europe. His ability to communicate at senior level via a multitude of channels makes Gavin a key member of the executive team.
Andre Vorster, CTO
André Vorster is a technology and information management specialist with more than 20 years’ experience, including software development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure management, business development, information management, business intelligence, data warehousing, database architecture, project management (AGILE) and bespoke information systems development, including web technologies, e-commerce, CRM and ERP systems. André has served in various leadership roles for some of the biggest ICT projects in Africa for The National Prosecution Authority of SA (NPA), SARS Interfile, Sanlam TASC, JP Morgan, Dimension Data and Alexander Forbes to name a few.
George Magai, Head of Partnerships
George is an Agricultural Economist and brings more than 20 years of working experience as a value chain facilitator. In addition, he has experience in developing models and tools to improve efficiency throughout the agricultural marketing chain, that is from producers to end-markets through agro-dealer development and related networks. His work has seen him exploring farmer market linkages working to offer opportunities for improving smallholders’ marketing. He is also the Director of Trade and Markets at COMESA/ACTESA and the Chairman of the African Union Commission's CAADP Markets and Regional Trade Network. George has a proven track record of success in roles requiring the execution of multiple tasks whilst responding to multiple priorities.
John Lumb, Chairman
A seasoned international businessman with a deep understanding of the African continent and international markets, John has extensive experience managing, motivating and developing teams that will thrive in challenging work environments. With excellent project management and strategic skills, he has enjoyed previous success in the international humanitarian and development sectors, managing future growth and daily operations. He developed groundbreaking humanitarian and investment events with pre-scheduled one to one roundtable meetings for Private-Public Partnerships. John combines strong relationship building skills across different cultures with excellent analytical skills to achieve the targeted outcome for an organisation. John manages future growth and strategic response to the ever increasing demand on the organisations services.
PAFEXE Steering Committee
The PAFEXE Steering Committee is a subset of members, representing the entire membership for the purposes of guiding the development of the PAFEXE program, providing ongoing strategic advice for the initiative and making recommendations to the board to help move activities forward.

Dr Chiyoge B. Sifa, Regional Director, ICA-Africa
Since March 2013, Dr Sifa has been working with The International Co-operative Alliance as the Director for the African continent. She has just spearheaded the development and launch of the first ever Africa Co-operative Development Strategy.
Steve Muchiri, CEO, Eastern Africa Farmers Federation
Stephen Muchiri is CEO of the EAFF and also sits on a number different committees and boards. He holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Horticulture and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management. EAFF is a non-political, not-for-profit, regional umbrella network of smallholder family farmers of Eastern Africa.
Honorable Professor Ruth Khasaya Oniang’o, Founder, ROP-Africa
Prof Oniang’o is the founder and first Executive Director of Rural Outreach Africa, a non-profit community development organization that she established in 1993 following an action research project whose findings catalyzed the founding of Rural Outreach Program (ROP). ROP’s main goal was to harness the intellectual resource of the university, connect it with the various capacities within communities to try to improve rural poor people’s livelihoods.
